  • The donor cow is then inseminated with semen from a high-quality bull.

Embryo Collection

  • About seven days after insemination, the embryos are collected from the donor's uterus through a process called "flushing".
  • This involves infusing a solution into the uterus and then filtering it out, collecting the embryos in the process.
  • The collected embryos are then evaluated for quality and viability.

Recipient Selection and Transfer

  • Recipient cows are selected to be synchronized with the donor cow's reproductive cycle.
  • This synchronization ensures the recipient's uterus is at the right stage of development to support the embryo's implantation.
  • The embryos are then transferred to the recipient cows, either fresh or after being frozen.
